The kindness of God draws us to Him. It’s a powerful magnet, wrapped in His love. His kindness is compelling. It speaks to our hearts, heals our emotions and compels us to a greater love. His kindness changes our minds in how we see ourselves and, ultimately how we see others. As we embrace the Father’s kindness beyond the surface of what we see, we learn to see through God’s eyes and something deep in us is changed.

In this world, we have a choice. Day by day we are slammed with negativity and fear based conversations about people we know and people we don’t. Those conversations shape our feelings, thoughts and emotions toward them. Each time we partner with that negativity another little piece of ourselves is subverted and something inside us shrivels.

As we learn more about the nature of God, we realize none of these negative things are in Him. He carries a kindness beyond our understanding. As believers in Jesus, we have a choice.

We choose whether we partner with God’s kindness
or with the fear and negativity of this world.

Perceptions are what they are. They are a truth with a little “t” – the truth of what we think we know. However, that truth is usually formed through what we hear or is filtered through our own fear based, protective perceptions and wounds. It is rarely God’s Truth. His Truth is simple: Look past the surface into the heart. Recognize one side of the story is not the entirety of the issue. God’s always working and moving in ways we do not know or see. Perfect love casts out fear. Love as you love yourself.

Maybe that’s the key piece:
We can only love others as we have learned to
receive through the kind intentions of His love.

When we learn to receive His love…all the way to the deep places within…all the way to the core of who we are…in all the wounds and broken places, we open the doors we closed. We experience and are overwhelmed by His kindness.

His kindness speaks to who He created us to be. His kindness draws us out toward who He knows we can become. We are compelled by His kindness to give over everything within us. We release agendas, justice, negativity, fear and control. We embrace the freedom He kindly offers us in Him. We learn to see ourselves through His love.

With each opening we give the Lord, He kindly steps into that space and fills it with His love. We come alive. Those shriveled pieces inside are taken by His gentle hand, embraced and loved to life again. Excitement builds, hope is restored and joy is our hallmark. His love means we know a kindness beyond our own limited thinking that can’t help but overflow to everyone we meet.
